It is with a heavy heart that we learned of the unexpected and untimely passing of Prof. Dr. Philipp Sandner, a bright mind, friend, and mentor.

If you had the privilege of knowing Philipp, we are sure you need not be told of the way in which he was able to inspire people with his natural curiosity, unique intellect, and incredible kindness. Chances are, you too are among the countless people whose lives were changed for the better as a result of having known Philipp. Whether he was guiding your academic pursuits, offering words of encouragement, or simply sharing his insights over a cup of coffee, he had a unique way of creating a lasting connection with those around him.

Rather than list all of his accomplishments, far more than most of us could hope to achieve in our lifetimes, let us remember him for who he was. A passionate visionary, pioneer, and dreamer that always made time to help others.

We are heartbroken by the passing of our founder, director, mentor, and friend.

While it will undoubtedly take time for all of us to process this loss and grieve, we at the Frankfurt School Blockchain Center intend to honor him by continuing his legacy and tending to his foremost aim: spreading awareness and competence on the topic he devoted such a significant portion of his life to.

Our thoughts are with his family, who have respectfully requested we refrain from sending enquiries and condolences, so they may grieve in private. In the coming days, a book of condolences will be made available at the reception of the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management.

Prof. Dr. Philipp Sandner will long be remembered for his dedicated contribution to the future of digital asset adoption and utilization. He lives on in the hearts and minds of the countless individuals he inspired.
